Occurrence: India to Papua New Guinea, Other names: Borneo Rosewood, Tiger Rengas, Burma Gluta, Chay, Rak, Kroeul
Due to the poisonous nature of the sap, this wood is not commonly used. However, it is relatively safe to work with dried wood.
Thanks to the massive dimensions of the trunks and the blood-red color, this wood is in high demand for furniture production. The wood is also used for decorative work, paneling, moldings, picture frames, flooring, decorative items, turning.
