Khaya Mahogany
Khaya Mahogany (Khaya spp.) is a tropical wood originating from Africa. This group includes several closely related species, mainly Khaya anthotheca, Khaya grandifoliola, Khaya ivorensis and Khaya senegalensis, which share very similar properties and appearance and are commonly grouped under the name African Mahogany.
This exotic wood typically ranges from light to medium reddish-brown in color, gradually darkening into deeper, warmer tones over time. A characteristic feature is its fine to medium texture and often interlocked or wavy grain, which can create an attractive figure.
The grain is generally straight, with occasional interlocking, which may produce interesting visual effects during machining. The wood has a natural luster and, when finished with oil or lacquer, achieves a very elegant appearance.
