Stainless Damascus steel blade for making your own knife
Description
Stainless Damascus steel blade blank designed for making your own knife.
The design combines a hard cutting core of martensitic stainless steel with a higher carbon and chromium content, which ensures good blade durability, with outer layers of tougher stainless steel contributing to the strength and durability of the blade.
The blade core is hardened to a hardness of 56-57 HRC, which represents a balanced ratio between long blade life and good resistance to damage during normal use.
The blade is ready for handle attachment and final sharpening, without the need for further modifications. An ideal basis for making a Japanese-style kitchen knife with an attractive Damascus pattern.
Japanese kitchen knives are highly regarded for their blade geometry, which allows precise, clean cuts with very little cutting resistance. The Boning knife is designed primarily for deboning meat and working around joints and tendons, where precision and excellent control are essential. Its characteristic narrow blade with a fine tip allows easy separation of meat from bones as well as precise trimming. In everyday use, it is a specialised kitchen knife particularly suited for deboning, portioning and other meat processing tasks.
