Slicing Blade SFD303 Stainless Damascus steel - 2 x 50 x 320 mm
Stainless Damascus steel blade for making your own knife
Description
Stainless Damascus steel blade blank designed for making your own knife.
The design combines a hard cutting core of martensitic stainless steel with a higher carbon and chromium content, which ensures good blade durability, with outer layers of tougher stainless steel contributing to the strength and durability of the blade.
The blade core is hardened to a hardness of 56-57 HRC, which represents a balanced ratio between long blade life and good resistance to damage during normal use.
The blade is ready for handle attachment and final sharpening, without the need for further modifications. An ideal basis for making a Japanese-style kitchen knife with an attractive Damascus pattern.
Japanese kitchen knives are highly regarded for their blade geometry, which allows precise, clean cuts with very little cutting resistance. The Slicing profile is based on traditional Japanese knives designed for long slicing strokes and portioning. Its long, slender blade allows smooth slicing in a single stroke without tearing the structure of the food. In practice, it is ideal for slicing meat, ham, roasts, fish and for filleting. Thanks to its slim blade, it offers precision, excellent control and a clean cut
