Description

Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa) is a moderately hard hardwood with a distinct grain structure and naturally warm appearance. Its color ranges from light brown to golden brown, often with a subtle olive hue.

The wood is relatively lightweight, yet strong and stable. It is easy to cut, plane, turn, sand, and glue. It is well-suited for both hand and machine processing. When worked, it produces a smooth surface with highlighted growth ring patterns.

After finishing with oil or wax, its warm tones and natural texture become more pronounced, giving products a rustic yet elegant look.
